Senior Estimator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +7 more states.

📋 Description

• Oversee the creation of comprehensive estimates for transmission and substation power distribution projects, encompassing labor, equipment, materials, and subcontractor expenses.

• Analyze design drawings, technical specifications, and bidding documents to define the scope of the project and estimate the necessary requirements.

• Perform quantity take-offs, evaluate constructability, and confirm design assumptions to ensure accurate project budgeting.

• Work collaboratively with project managers, engineers, procurement, and construction teams to ensure estimates align with project execution plans.

• Identify, quantify, and evaluate project risks and opportunities, integrating mitigation strategies into estimates.

• Prepare and deliver estimate summaries, bid proposals, and supporting documentation for review by executives and clients.

• Keep abreast of industry pricing trends, labor agreements, productivity benchmarks, and market conditions.

• Assist in contract negotiations by providing cost analysis and value engineering options.

• Mentor and provide guidance to junior estimators.

• Ensure all estimates adhere to corporate standards, client specifications, and relevant safety and quality protocols.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field is preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.

• A minimum of 7 years of estimating experience in power utility construction (transmission, substation, t-line).

• Experience with transmission lines, substations, and electrical distribution projects.

• Familiarity with Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) projects.

• Experience in estimating large projects valued at $75M or more.

• Competency in estimating software (e.g., B2W, HeavyBid, Sage, or similar) and proficiency in MS Excel.

• Strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills.

• Capability to manage multiple bids under tight deadlines.
