Senior Environmental Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado, +4 more states.

📋 Description

• Deliver advanced environmental support for due diligence, permitting, regulatory interpretation and compliance, as well as agency interactions.

• Assist in corporate development initiatives within the Central Region.

• Oversee complex environmental issues, licensing and permitting procedures, legislative development, and associated activities.

• Facilitate environmental due diligence, site selection, and environmental approvals/permits for energy projects, mergers, acquisitions, financing, and asset divestitures.

• Act as a subject matter expert on intricate environmental issues and adherence to environmental laws, regulations, and permit stipulations.

• Evaluate and convey environmental risks.

• Supervise aquatic, biological, and cultural resource consultants, studies, and technical documentation.

• Offer guidance on alternatives to reduce environmental impacts.

• Oversee project planning, budgeting, and scheduling.

• Convert regulatory guidelines into actionable tasks.

• Negotiate with federal, state, and local regulatory bodies.

• Develop and manage vendor contracts, purchase orders, and invoices.

• Communicate environmental requirements to management and stakeholders.

• Review, monitor, and provide feedback on emerging environmental legislation and regulations.

• Travel and work extended hours as needed.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree.

• 4+ years of relevant experience.

• Expertise in providing advanced environmental support in due diligence, permitting, regulatory interpretation, and compliance.

• Extensive experience in permitting, encompassing NEPA, utility siting, endangered species, and waters of the U.S.

• Background in risk diligence and mitigation.

• Project management skills, including leading projects and consultants with minimal direction.

• Familiarity with relevant environmental regulations.

• Capability to engage with regulatory agencies, internal and external customers, subject matter experts, and stakeholders.

• Willingness to travel and work extended hours when necessary.
