This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Lead and execute intricate environmental investigations, inspections, and monitoring initiatives concerning asbestos, lead-based paint, mold, and various environmental risks.
• Act as a technical authority and subject matter expert in hazardous materials evaluations, indoor air quality assessments, and remediation efforts.
• Manage field operations, including air, bulk, and surface sampling initiatives.
• Supervise and analyze environmental data, generate technical reports, and offer recommendations to clients and project stakeholders.
• Oversee remediation and abatement monitoring activities, including contractor supervision, final visual inspections, and clearance air sampling.
• Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local regulations, including OSHA, EPA, and CDPH standards.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and deliverables efficiently.
• Build and sustain client relationships through technical advice, regulatory guidance, and strategic consulting support.
• Mentor and assist junior team members through field training, technical evaluations, and professional development programs.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance complex projects, drive business development, and foster practice growth.
• Enhance technical procedures, quality assurance programs, and best practices.
• Maintain and calibrate field equipment while implementing quality control and quality assurance protocols.
• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health, Environmental Engineering, Kinesiology, or a related field.
• Over 5 years of experience in industrial hygiene, environmental consulting, hazardous materials management, or a related area, with a proven track record of increased responsibility.
• Significant experience in conducting and managing investigations involving asbestos, lead-based paint, mold, and indoor air quality.
• Comprehensive knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations, including OSHA, EPA, CDPH, and relevant hazardous materials regulations.
• Proficient in overseeing environmental sampling initiatives, including air, bulk, and surface sampling, along with interpreting laboratory results.
• Proven experience in managing projects, coordinating field teams, and delivering high-quality client outputs on time and within budget.
• Exceptional technical writing skills, report preparation capabilities, and QA/QC review experience.
• Capacity to independently conduct field investigations and travel to project sites within the Los Angeles area and nearby regions.
• Experience acting as a client-facing consultant and providing technical recommendations to stakeholders.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Preferred: Certified Site Surveillance Technician (CSST).
• Preferred: California Lead Sampling Technician Certification.
• Preferred: NIOSH 582 Microscopy Course (or equivalent).
• Preferred: OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER Certification.
• Preferred: Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), or progress towards professional certification.
• Preferred: EPA AHERA Inspector and/or Management Planner accreditation.
• Preferred experience mentoring junior staff and providing technical oversight.
• Preferred experience supporting business development efforts, proposal writing, and client relationship management.
• Preferred experience in complex commercial, industrial, healthcare, education, or insurance-related projects.
