This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +4 more states.
• Oversee and evaluate federal, state, and local permitting along with NEPA compliance for mining and energy initiatives.
• Act as the main liaison with governmental and private-sector clients.
• Function as the project manager for permitting and NEPA compliance on large-scale, intricate mining projects.
• Organize and execute project tasks to ensure the delivery of accurate, timely, and high-quality NEPA and permitting outcomes.
• Engage with agencies and clients to establish and nurture relationships.
• Recognize and cultivate new business opportunities, prepare proposals, and enhance client relationships.
• Direct multidisciplinary teams in the preparation of NEPA documentation, conduct research, and produce technical outputs.
• Guide project teams to fulfill client timelines, quality standards, and budgetary constraints.
• Lead, manage, motivate, and mentor staff members.
• Handle additional energy and infrastructure projects as required.
• Bachelor’s degree in physical science, natural science, policy, economics, environmental science, or related fields.
• Over 6 years of experience in national/state/local environmental reviews, mine permitting, or NEPA project management.
• A Master’s degree in physical science, natural science, policy, economics, or environmental science is preferred.
• At least 4 years of experience in managing or preparing NEPA documentation or environmental permits.
• Recent experience with regulations and policies from the Bureau of Land Management and/or U.S. Forest Service.
• Proven experience in obtaining environmental permits.
• Familiarity with reviewing technical studies that address biological resources, cultural resources, air quality, noise, and hydrology.
• Experience in managing pre-NEPA activities, including surveys and data collection.
• Capability in developing and maintaining project timelines and budgets.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, MS Project, and MS Teams.
• Excellent organizational abilities and a keen eye for detail.
