Senior Engineering Manager – Data Platform

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead the Data Platform & Infrastructure team.

• Take ownership of the strategy, implementation, and advancement of essential data systems.

• Lead, recruit, and provide mentorship to an engineering team.

• Direct the data infrastructure strategy and manage resource allocation, headcount, and vendor budget planning.

• Establish operational rhythms, objectives, and execution frameworks.

• Guide the architecture of systems, design of data flows, quality standards, and platform roadmaps.

• Define platform abstractions, APIs, and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

• Ensure effective monitoring, incident management, disaster recovery, and cost optimization.

• Collaborate with Product, Data, Finance, Security, Audit, and Analytics Engineering teams.

• Set standards for pipeline reliability, data security, and quality assurance.

• Promote automation and best practices in engineering.

• Develop leadership succession plans and cultivate senior technical leaders.

• Within the first year, enhance data governance, expand data-driven product offerings, boost engineering velocity, grow the team, and deliver a scalable roadmap.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of experience in software engineering, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), infrastructure, data platform engineering, or related domains.

• More than 4 years of experience managing high-performing technical teams and nurturing talent.

• Extensive expertise with Snowflake, Google BigQuery, Databricks, or comparable modern data warehousing solutions.

• Familiarity with ecosystem tools such as Airflow and DBT.

• Knowledge of Git and CI/CD workflows.

• Strong grasp of data warehousing concepts and infrastructure workload management.

• Proven experience in defining data security measures, platform SLAs, and governance frameworks.

• Exceptional stakeholder management and communication abilities.

• Capability to influence technical strategy across multiple organizations.
