Engineering Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Build and spearhead the trading engineering team from inception.

• Recruit, mentor, and develop engineers.

• Define the technical strategy and architecture for the trading platform.

• Manage the order lifecycle and execution, market data ingestion and distribution, positions and portfolio, settlement, and reconciliation.

• Lead decisions regarding broker, exchange, and market data integrations and connectivity.

• Ensure reliability and accuracy under market conditions, focusing on latency budgets, capacity, idempotency, and reconciliation.

• Collaborate with product, compliance, risk, and finance teams to address regulatory, KYC, AML, and audit requirements.

• Implement rigorous testing, controlled releases, incident response, and audit-grade observability throughout the order process.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of experience in software engineering, including a minimum of 3 years in leadership roles focused on team development.

• Proven experience in building or operating online stock trading, brokerage, or capital markets systems, including shipping order management, execution, market data, or settlement systems in a production environment.

• Proficient understanding of order types and lifecycle, market data feeds, clearing and settlement, corporate actions, reconciliation, and audit requirements for regulated trading.

• Strong technical judgment for architecture evaluations and balancing correctness with latency considerations.

• Proficient in TypeScript, Go, Postgres, and AWS/local private cloud hybrid environments.

• Experience working in conjunction with compliance and risk within a regulated financial product.

• Ability to operate swiftly on a greenfield product while maintaining correctness and controls.

• Experience in launching a retail trading or investing product from the ground up is a plus.

• Familiarity with the FIX protocol or exchange and broker connectivity is a plus.

• Experience in MENA or emerging-market financial services, including market entry and understanding of local regulatory contexts, is a plus.
