This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +2 more locations.
• Lead and develop two teams: UX for human onboarding and activation, alongside the Agent Platform for programmatic interfaces.
• Take ownership of Render's self-serve user journey, guiding it from the initial touchpoint through activation, early monetization, usage expansion, feature adoption, and PQL graduation.
• Enhance the agent-facing platform experience via the MCP, CLI, API, SDK, and Blueprints.
• Collaborate with product and design teams to synchronize roadmaps with customer, growth, and platform requirements.
• Recruit and nurture engineers to facilitate team expansion.
• Ensure clear team identities and focus areas as the teams grow.
• Make informed architectural and product decisions that balance long-term platform investments with iterative onboarding and activation enhancements.
• Establish performance management and career development protocols for a team that includes senior individual contributors.
• Strong leadership capabilities.
• Sufficiently hands-on to review code, prototype, and directly contribute when necessary.
• Comfortable navigating ambiguity, with a flexible and growth-oriented mindset.
• Demonstrated experience in building and scaling multiple teams.
• Proven track record in managing and developing senior engineers (IC5+), which includes hiring and performance management.
• Ability to collaborate closely with product and design teams.
• Strong product instincts that connect engineering efforts to growth and activation outcomes.
• Preferred experience in a startup environment, though experience in larger companies may be acceptable.
• Prior experience in growth-focused engineering is a plus.
• Experience in developing developer- or agent-facing product solutions and integrating with AI coding tools like Codex, Claude, or Cursor is desirable.
• Background in developer platforms or DevTools is a plus.
• Experience assisting a team in splitting or reorganizing as it scales is an asset.
