Senior Engineer – Water, Hydraulics, Drainage

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Mexico.

📋 Description

• Develop, calibrate, validate, and sustain 1D/2D InfoWorks ICM models for wastewater, stormwater, and urban drainage systems.

• Represent control systems, storage facilities, pump stations, and CSO structures within hydraulic models.

• Utilize flow/rainfall monitoring, SCADA, and asset data for model creation and calibration.

• Conduct macro/micro calibration and document uncertainties and assumptions.

• Evaluate and enhance CSOs, pumping stations, wastewater treatment facility interfaces, flood mitigation strategies, and CSO spill reduction initiatives.

• Perform hydraulic capacity evaluations, options assessments, and scenario analyses.

• Create modeling plans, testing plans, QA/QC checklists, traceable model builds, and version control documentation.

• Translate model results into engineering recommendations, conceptual solutions, and design inputs.

• Draft technical reports, memos, visuals, and presentations in both English and Spanish.

• Collaborate with GIS, survey, asset management, field, treatment, pipeline, structural, and electrical/controls teams.

• Assist in water infrastructure planning studies, benefit-cost evaluations, and risk-based prioritization.

• Review project deliverables and provide mentorship to junior engineers.

• Coordinate efforts across various disciplines, regions, and time zones.

• Contribute to proposal development and support client meetings and workshops.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field.

• A minimum of 4 years of professional experience.

• Advanced expertise in InfoWorks ICM, including model development, 1D/2D integration, RTC/controls, and calibration/verification.

• Proficient in GIS, AutoCAD/Civil 3D or equivalent, and data management for model input/output processes.

• Practical experience in stormwater and wastewater system modeling and analysis.

• Strong understanding of hydraulic design principles for gravity and pressure sewers, drainage systems, and associated infrastructure.

• Excellent technical reporting and communication skills.

• Capability to present findings and facilitate discussions.

• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish, both written and spoken.
