Senior Engineer, Software Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee the design, architecture, and development of applications based on Java and PL/SQL.

• Implement and enhance business logic utilizing PL/SQL packages, procedures, triggers, and specialized pension tools.

• Convert functional requirements into scalable technical designs and specifications.

• Propel performance optimization, scalability, and data integrity throughout the application stack.

• Conduct code reviews, resolve complex issues, and offer technical guidance.

• Execute unit testing and ensure deliverables align with quality and security standards.

• Collaborate with project teams to establish scope, timelines, and deliverables.

• Mentor and support team members.

• Advocate for new technologies, automation, and DevOps practices.

• Establish and uphold application security, data protection, and coding standards.

• Document software architecture, processes, and solutions.

• Provide technical leadership and consulting expertise for client implementation projects.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.

• At least 7 years of progressive experience in software development, including system design and architecture.

• Advanced proficiency in Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, and Java.

• Strong grasp of relational database design, performance tuning, and optimization.

• Experience with Oracle APEX, Git, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), and UNIX Bash scripting.

• Familiarity with databases, data conversion, reporting tools, API integration, and application design.

• Proven track record of leading development teams and mentoring junior staff.

• A solid understanding of pension plan concepts is a considerable advantage.

• Previous experience in the pension or financial services sector is beneficial.

• Ability to remain seated for extended periods.

• Regularly use a computer and office equipment.

• Occasional movement around the office is required.

• Frequent communication via telephone is necessary.
