This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Collaborate with a team of engineers on client projects and ongoing professional services engagements.
• Design and implement VMware solutions tailored for clients.
• Conduct VMware workshops for customers.
• Lead client engagements to identify and manage workload migrations.
• Provide occasional post-implementation support and troubleshooting services for clients.
• Create professional technical documentation for client review.
• Develop logical and physical diagrams using Microsoft Visio or a similar tool.
• Accurately track and log time spent in the required systems.
• Facilitate discussions and whiteboarding sessions with clients and/or colleagues.
• Report directly to the Sr. Director of Modern Platforms Virtualization.
• Travel up to 5% as necessary.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, including military experience.
• Over 6 years of advanced knowledge and experience with VMware, particularly in data center and workload migrations.
• More than 3 years of experience in developing workload migration plans.
• Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting the VMware Cloud Foundation suite of products.
• Extensive experience in migrating data center workloads within VMware, including P2V, vMotion, and HCX.
• Demonstrated experience in designing and implementing complex VMware data center solutions.
• Familiarity with VMware Cloud Foundation products; VCP certification preferred but not mandatory.
• Technical certifications are highly desirable.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform is preferred.
• Familiarity with VCF products and add-ons, including NSX, vSAN, Aria Operations, Aria Automation, VMware Live Site Recovery, and VMware Live Cyber Recovery is beneficial.
• Experience with cloud storage solutions from providers such as Microsoft, AWS, NetApp, Pure, Dell, and others is advantageous.
• Familiarity with data protection solutions such as Veeam, Commvault, Rubrik, Cohesity, or similar products is desired.
• Willingness to travel as required.
• Capability to physically lift and install equipment.
• Experience with DHCP, DNS, and general network troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of backup and disaster recovery technologies.
• Experience with multiple data centers and concepts of high availability, replication, and RTO/RPO.
• Strong work ethic coupled with effective problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting.
• Self-motivated individual with a drive for success.
• Keen attention to detail.
• Capacity to work independently or within a team.
• Ability to handle multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
• Competence in properly diagramming and documenting a working environment.
