Senior Engineer, Machine Learning, Vision

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Design and deploy machine learning functionalities within the product, encompassing the model training pipeline and the user-facing configuration process.

• Develop and sustain the training, labeling, and dataset management pipelines essential for the product and field operations.

• Create evaluation frameworks and accuracy regression tests that validate model modifications prior to deployment.

• Optimize models and inference pipelines to achieve required latency and throughput benchmarks on edge hardware.

• Analyze model performance using actual customer data and convert field errors into enhancements for datasets and evaluations.

• Engage in design, code, and model review processes, contributing to the ML engineering practices of the team.

• Transition modeling techniques from initial prototype stages to fully deployed, monitored features, taking responsibility for accuracy and latency in a production environment.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent relevant work experience.

• Generally requires 5+ years of pertinent experience in a software product development setting.

• Bachelor's or advanced degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.

• Proficiency in PyTorch or TensorFlow as well as modern computer vision architectures.

• Experience in edge inference and model optimization techniques such as ONNX, TensorRT, and quantization.

• Proven experience in developing dataset and labeling pipelines, including addressing class imbalance and label noise issues.

• Understanding of evaluation-driven processes: offline metrics, regression testing suites, and production monitoring.

• Background in industrial automation, machine vision, or manufacturing quality systems.

• Practical experience in building and training machine learning models using Python.

• Experience in deploying models into production systems and providing ongoing support.
