Senior Engineer - Epidemiologist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Deliver subject matter expertise regarding occupational exposure to radiation, chemicals, and fumes for the design of studies and interpretation of data related to military aviation and firefighter/first responder datasets.

• Supervise and assist in the creation and execution of statistical analysis plans for various research projects.

• Conduct expert reviews of, or contribute to, the classification of job groups into similar exposure categories.

• Collaborate with industrial hygienists and health physicists to evaluate job titles and tasks, and perform expert ratings/rankings of occupational exposures.

• Contribute to an extensive literature review on potential aviation-related hazards in both military and commercial aviation, supporting crew operations.

• Aid in the literature review and thorough assessment of existing evidence regarding prioritized potential carcinogens of interest.

• Assist in the development of job exposure matrices that address uncertainties arising from expert evaluations.

• Create a job exposure matrix that quantifies exposure to ionizing radiation linked to high-altitude flight.

⛳️ Requirements

• PhD.

• Background in the epidemiology of cancers.

• Experience with epidemiology concerning affected worker populations and carcinogenic occupational exposures.

• Knowledge or expertise related to occupational exposure to radiation, chemicals, and fumes.

• Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

• Familiarity with communication tools (Teams, SharePoint).
