Senior Engineer – Epidemiologist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Offer expert knowledge on occupational exposures to radiation, chemicals, and fumes for the design of studies and interpretation of data related to military aviation and firefighter/first responder datasets.

• Supervise and assist in the creation and execution of statistical analysis plans for various research studies.

• Review or contribute to the classification of job groupings into similar exposure groups.

• Collaborate with industrial hygienists and health physicists to evaluate job titles and tasks while conducting expert assessments and rankings of occupational exposures.

• Contribute to an extensive literature review of potential aviation-related hazards in both military and commercial aviation and support crew activities.

• Aid in the evaluation of available evidence and the prioritization of potential carcinogens of interest.

• Assist in the development of job exposure matrices that consider uncertainty from expert evaluations.

• Create a job exposure matrix that quantifies exposure to ionizing radiation linked to high-altitude flights.

⛳️ Requirements

• PhD.

• Background in the epidemiology of cancers.

• Experience with the epidemiology of affected worker populations.

• Knowledge of carcinogenic occupational exposures.

• Familiarity with occupational exposures to radiation, chemicals, and fumes.

• Proficient in MS Office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

• Experience using communication platforms: Teams and SharePoint.
