This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +12 more states.
β’ Assist in the development of Sustainable Building Technologies projects across North America.
β’ Offer engineering support to the sales team for central plant design and optimization initiatives.
β’ Support markets including Public, Federal, and Commercial & Industrial sectors.
β’ Utilize subject matter expertise to guide customers towards Honeywell solutions.
β’ Provide consultations both externally and internally.
β’ Contribute to the creation and maintenance of product messaging, customer support, and training materials.
β’ Promote cross-functional alignment with the needs of customers.
β’ Take part in strategy planning for pursuits and negotiations with customers.
β’ Apply knowledge of thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid systems.
β’ Interpret P&IDs, schematics, and technical drawings accurately.
β’ Develop conceptual schematic designs for initial cost estimations.
β’ Analyze energy metering, performance trends, and related data.
β’ Calculate annual energy usage for central heating/cooling and CHP facilities.
β’ Create detailed savings calculations for proposed solutions.
β’ Produce 30-year life-cycle cost analyses for new or modified facilities.
β’ Draft comprehensive scopes of work for both internal and external stakeholders.
β’ Conduct root-cause analysis and devise solutions for performance issues in plants and CHP systems.
β’ Engage in customer interactions and deliver technical presentations.
β’ Evaluate growth opportunities and scrutinize proposal activities.
β’ Develop and advocate for sales training programs.
β’ Mentor and guide less experienced engineers.
β’ Travel approximately 30% of the time.
β’ Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
β’ A minimum of 10 years of experience with central heating/cooling plants and CHP systems.
β’ Practical experience with boilers, chillers, cooling towers, hydronic/steam systems, etc.
β’ Possession of a Professional Engineering (PE) license.
β’ Familiarity with ASME, NFPA, UFC, and international mechanical codes.
β’ Experience in project development for projects ranging from $1M to $20M+.
β’ Relevant professional certifications such as CEM or LEED-AP.
β’ Experience with steam and/or gas turbine generation and thermal energy storage systems.
β’ Knowledge of traditional building HVAC and control systems.
β’ Understanding of industry regulatory requirements and upcoming mandates.
β’ Awareness of energy and carbon reduction project grants and incentive programs.
β’ U.S. citizenship is required due to federal contract obligations.
β’ Ability to build and maintain robust customer relationships.
β’ Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including technical writing and proposal development.
β’ Capability to drive results through influence in a matrixed team environment.
