Senior Electrical Engineering Consultant – Renewable Energy

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Act as the electrical engineering lead for the owner's engineer roles in utility-scale solar and battery energy storage projects.

• Develop EPC RFP packages for solar and battery energy storage, along with the related technical specifications.

• Assess EPC proposals to aid in the selection of preferred EPC contractors.

• Offer technical support throughout EPC contract negotiations.

• Draft or evaluate specifications for critical equipment, including main power transformers and BESS/PV collection system components.

• Review electrical engineering design drawing packages and supporting calculations from EPC contractors.

• Engage with renewable low-voltage DC and AC systems.

• Work on AC collection systems for solar and battery installations.

• Participate in the development of collector substations and expansions of interconnecting substations.

• Work on generation-tie transmission projects.

• Collaborate face-to-face with power plant developers, owners, lenders, and investors during consulting engagements.

• Contribute to the growth of the consulting group in renewable energy, battery energy storage, and utility planning/advisory practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.

• Over 8 years of experience in electrical engineering design for utility-scale solar and battery energy storage projects, either within an EPC team or as an Owner’s Engineer.

• Proven experience in direct engineering for at least one utility-scale project during the development of IFC design.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

• Strong interpersonal skills with the capability to work collaboratively and guide others.

• This position does not offer work authorization sponsorship in the U.S.

• Familiarity with AI, automation, programming, or similar technologies is appreciated but not mandatory.
