Senior Electrical Engineer – Renewable Energy

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Act as a key member of Bureau Veritas' owner's engineering and technical advisory team for clients in renewable power and utilities.

• Assist throughout the entire CAPEX cycle, which encompasses conceptual and feasibility studies, permitting assistance, detailed design evaluations, equipment inspections, construction aid, commissioning, and start-up support.

• Conduct electrical design assessments utilizing the Bureau Veritas design review methodology.

• Receive design documentation and formulate review plans.

• Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and project specifications.

• Verify the authenticity and completeness of documents.

• Evaluate designs against applicable codes, standards, and owner specifications.

• Analyze input data, modeling, design parameters, and conditions.

• Identify any nonconformities and potential risks that could impact project timelines and costs, and promptly inform clients.

• Assign approval statuses to the reviewed drawings.

• Create and distribute review comment reports or logs to clients.

• Assess adherence to contractual obligations, interconnection and interface requirements, performance standards, equipment performance envelopes, design lifecycle, cost efficiency, and scheduling factors.

⛳️ Requirements

• Comprehensive understanding of electrical engineering theories and principles.

• At least 7 years of experience as an electrical engineer in the renewable power and utility sectors.

• In-depth knowledge of IEEE electrical design standards, NFPA, ANSI, NETA, and other relevant standards.

• Proficient in interpreting codes, regulations, and industry practices.

• Skilled in Microsoft Office applications with strong computer capabilities.

• Experience with ETAP, SKM, PSS/E, or ASPEN is highly preferred.

• Excellent oral and written communication abilities.

• Capability to work autonomously with minimal supervision and thrive in a dynamic team environment.

• Strong time management and organizational competencies.

• Ability to prioritize tasks and engage in multiple projects concurrently.

• Critical thinking, meticulous attention to detail, effectiveness under pressure, flexibility, reliability, integrity, and ethical behavior.

• A combination of field engineering, EOR, OE, and EPC experience in the renewable energy sector is highly desirable.

• A 4-year degree in electrical engineering or a 4-year ABET-accredited Engineering Technology degree is mandatory.

• A current and valid US Professional Engineer license is required.
