This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Take charge of the design progression of the Wirecutter Store and spearhead the design of the shopping experience.

• Achieve a balance between high-conversion user experience design and strict visual standards.

• Ensure the visual and structural integrity of the store, which includes the homepage, product detail pages, and checkout processes.

• Convert complex business requirements into high-fidelity designs through wireframing, prototyping, and refinement for both desktop and mobile platforms.

• Examine the shopping funnel to pinpoint friction points and enhance navigation, product discovery, and checkout processes.

• Review the site experience, identify growth opportunities, and suggest improvements to site architecture.

• Collaborate with the business team on the A/B testing strategy and design user interface experiments.

• Utilize data to refine designs iteratively.

• Create, configure, and manage Shopify pages.

• Advocate for design standards in discussions with technical partners during the implementation phase.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 4 years of relevant design experience.

• A portfolio that demonstrates your ability and process for designing for e-commerce, including information architecture, interaction design, and visual hierarchy.

• Experience in designing for Shopify, including navigating the theme editor, managing product assets, and working with developers on custom layouts.

• Proficiency in designing templates for e-commerce email platforms such as Klaviyo or Shopify Email.

• Knowledge of email layout, typography, and the influence of clear CTAs on click-through and open rates.

• Experience with analytics to assess site performance and prioritize design modifications.

• Capability to present your own work without relying on GenAI tools for generating substantial application or interview content.
