Senior Director, Software Engineering - Shopping

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Oversee, direct, and expand several teams of software engineers focused on product development.

• Provide mentorship and guidance for the professional and technical growth of engineers.

• Collaborate with product managers to gain insights into application functionalities and testing scenarios.

• Continuously enhance software engineering methodologies.

• Design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions utilizing full-stack development tools and technologies within Agile teams.

• Ensure the craftsmanship, availability, resilience, and scalability of solutions.

• Keep abreast of technological trends, explore and learn new technologies, and engage in both internal and external technology communities.

• Mentor members of the engineering community.

• Foster innovation, the adoption of cutting-edge technologies, inclusion, teamwork, self-organization, and diversity.

• Enhance the throughput of your team and others.

• Lead the deployment of new and existing applications within AWS environments.

• Transform monolithic applications into microservice architectures and create new microservices.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree.

• Minimum of 9 years of experience in software development.

• At least 7 years of experience in managing people.

• Preferred: Master’s Degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering.

• Preferred: 13+ years of experience in software development.

• Preferred: 8+ years of experience in Agile methodologies.

• Experience with technologies such as Node.js, Java, Go, AngularJS, React, Python, REST, JSON, XML, Ruby, Perl, NoSQL databases, relational databases, Hadoop, Chef, Maven, iOS, Android, and AWS/Cloud Infrastructure.
