Senior Director of Construction – General Construction

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Supervise all stages of residential renovations and new construction across a diverse geographic portfolio.

• Act as a reliable partner to executive leadership, offering strategic guidance.

• Stay actively involved in field operations and daily execution.

• Direct project planning and contractor oversight.

• Facilitate coordination among cross-functional stakeholders.

• Ensure project work aligns with the organization's vision, operational objectives, and long-term asset strategy.

• Manage projects as a hands-on contributor, utilizing construction expertise and executive-level decision-making.

• Travel across the U.S. as required.

⛳️ Requirements

• 15+ years of progressive experience in construction, real estate development, or related fields.

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, business, real estate, architecture, or a related discipline.

• Extensive hands-on field experience with in-depth knowledge of construction methods and practices.

• Proven track record in managing high-end residential projects, including renovations and new construction.

• Demonstrated ability to oversee multiple projects and coordinate cross-functional teams.

• Experience managing property portfolios with a comprehensive understanding of long-term operational impacts.

• Strong financial acumen, including skills in budgeting, forecasting, and contract management.

• Proficient with tools like Procore, Bluebeam, Matterport, or similar platforms.

• Strategic leadership with a fiduciary mindset and robust decision-making abilities.

• Expertise in contract negotiation and vendor management across diverse markets.

• Capability to foresee challenges, resolve conflicts, and lead teams through complex projects.

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex issues for varied audiences.

• High level of organizational awareness and the ability to navigate multi-layered environments.
