This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Oversee the creation and execution of tools, references, and resources that provide judges with access to independent scientific information.

• Assist in project strategies that align with SRJ’s mission and objectives.

• Manage intricate, multi-year projects that have a national influence.

• Collaborate with external consultants, contractors, and vendors.

• Represent the organization at external events.

• Write and supervise the development of proposals in conjunction with senior leadership.

• Support evaluation frameworks that assess project impact.

• Build and maintain relationships with judicial leaders, judges, lawyers, academic institutions, and industry stakeholders.

• Organize and facilitate events and discussions for stakeholders.

• Assist in the communication strategy and share project information, resources, and results.

• Manage project-related content, including evidence-based resources, event materials, and technical documents.

• Address inquiries from stakeholders.

• Develop and oversee project budgets, monitor expenses, and project future budgets.

• Ensure compliance with grants and alignment with project objectives.

• Streamline resource allocation.

• Contribute to the writing of proposals and the preparation, submission, and management of grant reports.


⛳️ Requirements

• Graduate degree in science, engineering, education, or law, along with 10+ years of professional experience, or equivalent work experience.

• Proven experience in conveying complex scientific concepts within legal frameworks.

• Knowledge of legal procedures and ethical standards related to science in judicial settings.

• Experience collaborating with technologists to create innovative methods for science communication.

• Background in program development and implementation, including budget oversight, program impact assessment, and project management.

• Comfortable taking risks, exercising discretion, problem-solving, and suggesting courses of action.

• Passionate about engaging with stakeholders, both virtually and in person.

• High-level strategic thinker with the ability to influence project direction.

• Strong relationship-building abilities with external funders and partners.

• Capable of mentoring junior staff and enhancing team capabilities.

• Adaptable, resourceful, and able to juggle multiple tasks while prioritizing to meet deadlines under pressure.
