This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take charge of the exploration and identification of assessment design options for 6–8 new career-oriented AP courses, along with future course offerings.
• Spearhead the continuous development of assessments, starting from initial test blueprints to pilot exam versions and ongoing item and version refinement.
• Identify, choose, enhance, and implement innovative item types for new career-focused AP Exams.
• Select the ideal combination of traditional, skills-based, project-based, and performance-based formats and modalities.
• Collaborate with psychometric and curriculum specialists to ensure alignment between course and assessment design.
• Build internal cases and secure stakeholder support for new assessment methodologies.
• Lead the creation of test blueprints and pilot exam versions.
• Define and manage assessment models that generate, store, and facilitate student use of workforce credentials.
• Oversee annual version development and usage integration plans.
• Establish the validity and defensibility for each assessment format introduced.
• Collaborate on exam version assembly, equating, and standard setting, including innovative formats.
• Represent assessment considerations in cross-functional project reviews.
• Build and recruit an assessment design team.
• Supervise the calibration and training of subject matter expert panels.
• Approve assessment deliverables at key project decision points.
• 10–15+ years of experience in assessment design, test development, or curriculum leadership roles.
• Direct, hands-on experience in assessment and measurement.
• Proven track record of innovation in assessment design, particularly in skills-based, project-based, or credential-linked models.
• Proficient understanding of assessment data and psychometric outputs, including item statistics, score distributions, and equating concepts.
• Experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder timelines against fixed external deadlines.
• History of driving change and gaining buy-in from stakeholders with varying perspectives.
• Experience in building and leading teams within a matrixed organization.
