This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Create and implement tailored strategies for specific accounts to ensure optimal access for marketed biosimilars, insulin products, specialty biologics, and branded therapeutics across both medical and pharmacy benefits.
• Oversee access planning for upcoming pipeline products prior to their launch.
• Navigate the complexities of formulary placement, medical policy coverage, buy & bill economics, specialty pharmacy distribution, prior authorization, step therapy, and contract-based preferred positioning.
• Develop and implement payer strategies specifically for the insulin/diabetes portfolio, encompassing Part D Senior Savings Model dynamics, IRA implications, and competitive positioning.
• Negotiate and finalize contracts that balance broad access with margin protection.
• Manage rebates, discounts, performance-based agreements, and administrative fees for designated accounts.
• Formulate contracting strategies for pipeline biologics and specialty products.
• Oversee gross-to-net implications while safeguarding pricing integrity, including ASP and WAC/net pricing.
• Establish market access processes, tools, analytics capabilities, contracting infrastructure, and account management frameworks.
• Collaborate with leadership to outline the long-term market access organizational structure.
• Identify capability gaps and propose investments in systems, data, and talent.
• Act as an internal expert on payer/account dynamics, reimbursement policy, and competitive access intelligence.
• Collaborate with teams in Commercial, Medical Affairs, Legal, Finance, Regulatory, and Trade/Distribution.
• Provide insights on market access to inform pricing decisions, launch sequencing, and portfolio prioritization.
• Deliver competitive intelligence that guides enterprise-level decision-making.
• Maintain executive-level relationships with key decision-makers.
• Represent Meitheal at industry forums and conferences.
• Advise leadership on the shifting access landscape and its implications for commercial strategy.
• Travel throughout the U.S. for customer meetings, internal gatherings, seminars, and conferences.
• Established, current executive-level relationships with key decision-makers across various customer segments.
• Proven success in negotiating contracts that have led to measurable access improvements and revenue impacts.
• Direct experience with biologic, biosimilar, insulin, and/or branded therapeutic products.
• Experience in emerging or high-growth company settings where building infrastructure is as critical as executing strategies.
• Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous situations, demonstrating resourcefulness and independence without extensive support.
• Preferred experience in insulin market access, including Part D formulary dynamics, the $35 cap environment, and competitive positioning.
• Preferred experience in launching products within competitive multi-source biologic, biosimilar, and branded therapeutic markets.
• Strong understanding of medical benefit (Part B / buy & bill) and pharmacy benefit (Part D / PBM-managed) access dynamics is preferred.
• Preferred experience with specialty product access, including limited distribution, specialty pharmacy networks, and hub/patient services integration.
• Familiarity with the dynamics of the 340B program and its contracting implications is preferred.
• Understanding of the IRA/Inflation Reduction Act implications for manufacturer contracting obligations is preferred.
• Previous experience at a company that expanded its commercial infrastructure is preferred.
• A Bachelor's degree is required; an MBA, PharmD, or advanced degree is preferred.
• 15+ years of progressive experience in pharmaceutical/biotechnology market access or national account management.
• Willingness and ability to travel extensively, up to 50% of the time, across the U.S.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.
• This is a field-based role; remote work is expected.
