Senior Director, Medical Science Liaisons – West Region

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey.

📋 Description

• Lead, manage, mentor, and train a team of five Medical Science Liaisons in the West Region.

• Supervise engagement with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and Healthcare Professionals (HCPs) to align with company and medical strategies.

• Create and uphold strategies for KOL and stakeholder engagement, including identification, segmentation, planning, and tracking.

• Manage KOL engagement strategies while ensuring compliance with company policies and guidance.

• Maintain IT and data analytics solutions to monitor MSL activities.

• Act as a scientific peer-to-peer resource on clinical data for external disease experts and internal stakeholders.

• Ensure that KOLs and HCPs receive accurate and up-to-date scientific information.

• Collect, analyze, and convey insights from the medical community and competitive intelligence.

• Contribute to the development of medical strategies, tactics, lifecycle management, and scientific planning.

• Guarantee timely and precise responses to Medical Information Requests.

• Coordinate and assist in company-sponsored research and clinical trials.

• Support site identification, trial recruitment, and the presentation of approved data.

• Foster communication and collaboration between MSLs and internal teams.

• Oversee the creation of training materials, presentation slides, and educational resources.

• Identify and train speakers for effective scientific communication.

• Assist with advisory boards and facilitate scientific discussions.

• Participate in HEOR presentations or related evidence-generation activities.

• Support managed care initiatives related to product access and reimbursement.

⛳️ Requirements

• Doctorate degree (i.e., PharmD, MD/DO, PhD, etc.) in a relevant scientific field.

• A minimum of 5 years of directly related experience in the pharmaceutical industry.

• Preferred experience in research or the pharmaceutical industry within Allergy and Immunology.

• Proven track record in providing medical/scientific support to various departments.

• Comprehensive understanding of local regulations and codes of practice applicable to the pharmaceutical sector.

• Knowledge of FDA regulations and OIG guidelines.

• Excellent communication skills and ability to build relationships.

• Strong strategic mindset with a grasp of market needs and resource allocation.

• Familiarity with medical affairs activities, such as Medical & KOL strategy and management, medical education, medical operations, medical congresses, investigator-initiated studies, and professional society engagement.

• Proficient computer skills, including word processing, slide production, and spreadsheet applications.

• Willingness to travel frequently, approximately 50–75% of the time, including air travel, overnight stays, and weekends.

• Must have and maintain a valid driver's license.
