Senior Director, Medical Affairs

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Oversee medical affairs initiatives, including scientific communications, medical information, and scientific support for claims, as well as educational grants.

• Guide the team in providing clinical evidence to the physician community through impactful scientific communications that align with the Medical Affairs strategy.

• Propose and execute strategies, systems, and processes for scientific communications.

• Lead the evaluation of clinical data and the creation and dissemination of publications in peer-reviewed medical/cardiology journals and physician podium presentations.

• Recommend and implement strategies, systems, and processes for medical information pertaining to transcatheter tricuspid valve interventions.

• Ensure the delivery of information that supports appropriate product usage and scientific exchange.

• Direct effective scientific reviews of product claims related to transcatheter tricuspid valve interventions.

• Oversee the successful implementation of educational grant reviews.

• Enhance and implement best practices and methods through collaboration with directors, managers, and experienced professionals.

• Create a talent development and succession plan that aligns with the growth strategy of Medical Affairs.

• Spearhead risk identification, mitigation strategies, alternative solutions, and issue resolution in collaboration with cross-functional and matrix teams.

• Organize and manage strategic activities while prioritizing projects to meet business goals.

• Analyze, develop, and present recommendations to guide leadership decisions.

• Craft and deliver communications for senior leadership and executive-level audiences.

⛳️ Requirements

• Master's Degree or equivalent relevant experience.

• Proven track record in people management.

• Ph.D., PharmD, MD, or another equivalent advanced scientific degree (preferred).

• Experience in Medical Affairs leadership within the pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device sectors (preferred).

• Extensive knowledge of cardiovascular disease states and therapies (preferred).

• Background in scientific communications, publications, medical information, or evidence dissemination (preferred).

• Strong comprehension of clinical research, clinical evidence interpretation, and biostatistics (preferred).

• Demonstrated success in leading and developing teams (preferred).

• Outstanding scientific writing, editing, communication, and presentation abilities (preferred).

• Experience in influencing cross-functional and senior stakeholders within a matrixed environment (preferred).

• Strong capabilities in strategic thinking, project leadership, and problem-solving (preferred).
