This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +2 more states.
• Oversee, manage, and enhance multiple teams of software engineers focused on product development.
• Establish long-term technical strategies and architectural standards for enterprise-level platforms.
• Collaborate with senior engineering and business leaders to align product roadmaps with scalable technological capabilities.
• Drive strategies for talent acquisition, succession planning, skill enhancement, and equitable opportunities.
• Mentor and support engineers in their professional and technical growth.
• Work with product managers to create market-driven application capabilities and customer experiences.
• Enhance software engineering practices within Agile teams.
• Design, develop, test, implement, and support comprehensive full-stack technical solutions.
• Lead the craftsmanship of solutions focusing on availability, resilience, and scalability.
• Deploy both new and existing applications within AWS environments.
• Construct and manage robust, low-latency, high-volume systems that facilitate domestic and international payment processes.
• Engineer solutions for core network products while simplifying global participant integration.
• Utilize automation and AI-driven engineering to provide real-time insights and enhance fraud and risk management capabilities.
• Promote innovation, inclusion, teamwork, self-organization, and diversity within the engineering organization.
• A Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science or a related quantitative discipline.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in people management.
• At least 9 years of experience in software engineering and solution architecture.
• A minimum of 9 years in enterprise architecture and design patterns.
• At least 9 years of experience in cloud computing (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud).
• Minimum of 9 years of experience in data architecture.
• Proficient with web technologies, distributed HPC and ML systems, databases, networking protocols, and third-party distributed systems.
• Experience in coding with Go, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Rust, C#, or Scala.
• Familiarity with public cloud platforms, cloud-based productivity tools, or virtualization technologies.
• Proven experience mentoring senior engineers and fostering professional development.
• Experience leading architectural reviews across domains or establishing coding and design standards.
• Expertise in strategically applying agentic AI coding tools.
• Demonstrated experience utilizing AI-driven tools, frameworks, or modern software development methodologies.
• Background in fintech, particularly in payment processing, merchant services, or digital payment architectures.
• Experience in building and delivering enterprise software, executing enterprise-scale data migrations, and managing platform transformations.
• Proficient in architecting, testing, and operating real-time distributed data systems and handling high-volume data pipelines.
• Ability to build and mentor high-performing engineering teams.
