This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Lead the technical architecture and engineering strategy for offerings related to cybersecurity assessments, agentic AI platforms, and delivery capabilities.
• Establish and expand the Cyber Engineering function, including operating models, team charters, hiring strategies, and delivery frameworks.
• Convert advisory assessment methodologies into consistent, tooling-enabled delivery capabilities.
• Develop the engineering foundation to transform fixed-fee assessments into recurring subscription-based platform revenue.
• Design telemetry normalization, analytics, and reporting capabilities that convey client risk and security posture.
• Oversee the technical architecture for the agentic AI security platform, encompassing multi-agent orchestration, data pipelines, and cloud-native deployments across Azure and AWS.
• Define enterprise reference architectures, engineering guardrails, deployment standards, and platform design principles.
• Enhance platform capabilities and roadmap initiatives to support compliance readiness.
• Establish AI governance practices related to acceptable use, data classification, DLP, and controls for shadow AI.
• Provide executive-level briefings on technical, risk, and security posture to leadership and client stakeholders.
• Collaborate with OEM alliances to integrate cybersecurity solutions across identity, deception, non-human identity, and adjacent domains.
• Recruit, mentor, and lead a high-performing engineering team.
• Implement Kanban-based workflows and mechanisms for executive reporting.
• Modernize outdated approaches and introduce innovative methodologies, technologies, and strategic partnerships.
• Execute other assigned responsibilities.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 12+ years of experience in building and scaling enterprise security programs with increasing leadership responsibility.
• Proven track record of establishing security functions from the ground up, including operating models, governance structures, and multi-year strategic roadmaps.
• In-depth expertise in cloud security architectures across both Azure and AWS environments.
• Experience in designing and implementing Zero Trust architectures, SIEM/SOAR platforms, DevSecOps practices, and infrastructure-as-code solutions.
• Background in security data engineering, including telemetry normalization frameworks such as OCSF, data lakes, and AI/ML-driven analytics.
• Experience in leading portfolio rationalization and initiatives for cybersecurity cost optimization.
• Ability to effectively communicate complex security risks and investment priorities to executive and board-level audiences.
• Familiarity with NIST CSF, NIST SP 800-53, FISMA, and FedRAMP.
• Preferred: experience in consulting, cybersecurity advisory services, VAR organizations, or platform-based technology businesses.
• Preferred: experience supporting State and Local Government, Higher Education, Federal, Defense, and Commercial sectors.
• Preferred: exposure to agentic AI, non-human identity, and shadow AI security domains.
• Preferred: CISSP or an equivalent advanced cybersecurity certification.
• Expertise in enterprise cybersecurity strategy and architecture.
• Knowledge of cloud security architecture across Azure and AWS.
• Understanding of Zero Trust security principles and implementation methodologies.
• Familiarity with security operations, SIEM, SOAR, and threat detection capabilities.
• Experience in security data engineering and telemetry normalization frameworks.
• Knowledge of AI governance, risk management, and emerging AI security practices.
• Proficiency in DevSecOps methodologies and infrastructure-as-code practices.
• Skills in Python, CI/CD pipelines, Terraform, and automation technologies.
• Strong executive communication, consulting, and stakeholder management capabilities.
• Experience in developing cybersecurity assessments and service productization.
• Skills in strategic planning, organizational design, and function-building.
• Capabilities in team leadership, coaching, and talent development.
• Expertise in vendor, alliance, and partner management.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to translate technical security concepts into business outcomes and investment strategies.
