This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Lead research projects focusing on emerging topics in AI safety and security, particularly in the areas of physical AI, autonomous systems, robotics, and AI-hardware integration.
• Develop and implement research agendas that encompass AI safety and security across the physical AI landscape.
• Act as the primary authority on technologies and market dynamics related to physical AI safety and security.
• Identify new trends, groundbreaking technologies, and potential disruptions in the field.
• Conduct expert interviews, technical assessments, case studies, along with qualitative and quantitative research.
• Analyze competitive environments and monitor startups through established companies.
• Evaluate technology readiness, commercialization paths, and barriers to adoption.
• Assess geopolitical aspects, including international competition, export controls, and regulatory frameworks.
• Write research papers and briefing documents.
• Present findings to executives, product leaders, investors, and technical communities.
• Enhance Gartner’s position as a leading global authority on AI.
• Build and maintain relationships with researchers, entrepreneurs, investors, and industry professionals.
• Integrate diverse viewpoints and foster discussions among stakeholders in physical AI safety and security.
• Interact with clients through virtual and in-person engagements, meetings, conferences, and industry events.
• Over 12 years of relevant experience in the field or industry.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; a graduate degree is preferred.
• Profound knowledge of emerging AI-enabled software development tools and agent technologies, along with their markets, costs, and providers.
• Recent experience in bringing AI-driven solutions to market.
• Strong understanding of complex systems and cybersecurity requirements.
• Critical thinking skills, curiosity, and self-motivation to detect emerging technology signals.
• Excellent written, verbal, analytical, and presentation abilities.
• Executive presence with the capability to engage C-level provider and end-user clients.
• Solid foundational understanding of AI risk management.
• Preferred: Knowledge of physical AI.
• Preferred: Experience in sectors such as defense, logistics, real estate/facilities management, and/or manufacturing.
• Preferred: Understanding of human resource management and the future of agent augmentation/replacement of human roles.
• Preferred: Experience in managing research projects or complex initiatives with multiple stakeholders focused on safety and security.
• Preferred: Practical experience in developing, deploying, or operating AI-driven solutions.
• Preferred: Experience with agentic AI, world models, reasoning models, robotics, or policies regarding autonomous weapons.
• Preferred: Publications in enterprise reports, periodicals, or industry publications.
• Preferred: Multilingual skills.
