
Senior Digital Strategy, Engagement Associate – Part-Time

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +12 more states.
• Assist in the daily management of NCYL’s website, email, and social media platforms.
• Implement digital engagement strategies to enhance audience growth, foster deeper engagement, and boost conversion rates.
• Aid in executing the email program, which includes strategy, production, testing, segmentation, and performance optimization.
• Create engaging email narratives that feature compelling storytelling, clear calls to action, and audience-focused messaging.
• Drive engagement metrics such as opens, clicks, donations, registrations, and other interactions.
• Oversee digital content calendars in collaboration with communications, development, and program staff.
• Write, edit, schedule, publish, and optimize content across various email, web, and social media platforms.
• Coordinate efforts with the Communications & Development Writer and the Digital Content & Design Manager.
• Collaborate with internal colleagues and external creatives for video and visual storytelling initiatives.
• Manage updates and publishing workflows for the website.
• Monitor digital channel performance and propose strategies to enhance reach, engagement, and conversion rates.
• Ensure editorial quality, consistency, and execution across all platforms.
• Report directly to NCYL’s Managing Director, Public Affairs & Advancement.
• Undertake additional duties as assigned.
• A minimum of three (3) years of experience in digital communications, digital marketing, advocacy communications, nonprofit communications, campaigns, or similar fields.
• Proven experience in managing websites and social media channels in a dynamic environment.
• Basic coding skills, particularly in email coding and WordPress page development.
• Experience in crafting email content and strategies that enhance engagement and conversion rates.
• Strong writing and editing abilities, with the adaptability to tailor content for various digital formats, audiences, and platforms.
• Experience utilizing storytelling techniques to enhance digital performance, particularly in email and campaign contexts.
• Background in creating video content.
• Skilled in developing content calendars, managing workflows, and juggling multiple deadlines.
• Proficient in using analytics to assess performance and refine strategy over time.
• Exceptional attention to detail, sound editorial judgment, and a high standard for execution.
• A service-oriented mindset; capable of supporting others, collaborating cross-functionally, and seeking constructive feedback.
• Strong commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion, with the ability to apply a racial and social justice perspective to advocacy while centering the voices of marginalized children, youth, and their families.
• Commitment to the mission and goals of NCYL.
• Must reside in California, Colorado, Illinois, Massachusetts, Maryland, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Texas, Virginia, Washington, DC, or Wisconsin; registration in Minnesota and Washington state is currently underway.
• A portfolio showcasing 2–3 examples of communications work for which the candidate had significant responsibility.
