Senior DevSecOps Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, configure, develop, integrate, test, document, and maintain AWS capabilities utilizing AWS, EKS, ECS, Terraform, Packer, Vault, Consul, GitHub Actions, CI/CD pipelines, CloudWatch, OpenTelemetry, container platforms, and security automation.

• Execute and enhance CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, container platform operations, monitoring, alerting, and automated secure deployment.

• Convert business, mission, security, accessibility, and operational requirements into effective technical solutions.

• Assist in platform architecture, backlog refinement, implementation planning, release readiness, and production transition tasks.

• Create reusable patterns, configuration standards, automation, documentation, and support procedures that minimize delivery and sustainment risks.

• Diagnose complex issues across platform configuration, code, data, APIs, identity, security, performance, and user experience.

• Collaborate with teams in cybersecurity, privacy, data management, infrastructure, QA, and change management to ensure delivery aligns with federal operating standards.

• Maintain technical documentation including design decisions, implementation notes, test evidence, and operational runbooks.

• Support AWS cloud platform engineering, Kubernetes operations, HashiCorp platform automation, CI/CD, observability, reliability, and AI-enabled delivery practices.

• Integrate security, compliance, automation, scanning, secrets management, and secure release controls into delivery pipelines.

• Collaborate with government stakeholders, architects, engineers, product owners, cybersecurity teams, operations, and business users to transform requirements into mission-aligned platform capabilities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Data Analytics, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

• Over 7 years of experience in DevSecOps, cloud security, and platform automation, ideally within complex enterprise or government settings.

• Practical experience with AWS implementation, configuration, development, integration, testing, or operations.

• Experience collaborating with Agile delivery teams and converting stakeholder requirements into maintainable technical outcomes.

• Strong practical knowledge of AWS capabilities, implementation patterns, administration, development, integration, and lifecycle management.

• Ability to design and implement secure, maintainable, upgrade-aware solutions that minimize unnecessary customization and reduce technical debt.

• Familiarity with APIs, identity and access management, data handling, testing, monitoring, troubleshooting, and release coordination.

• Proficient in documenting technical designs, configuration choices, operational procedures, test results, and risks in a clear and comprehensible manner.

• Excellent communication skills with the capability to engage effectively with government stakeholders, product owners, engineers, QA, cybersecurity, and operations teams.

• Eligibility to obtain a Public Trust clearance.

• Experience with DevSecOps methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, infrastructure as code, or platform release automation.

• Understanding of federal security and compliance principles, including NIST controls, FISMA, FedRAMP-authorized services, audit evidence, and least privilege concepts.

• Proven experience in enhancing platform governance, reusability, documentation, observability, and operational readiness.

• Familiarity with Microsoft 365, ServiceNow, Atlassian, Snowflake, data catalog, CRM, or enterprise integration ecosystems.

• Desired certifications include AWS Solutions Architect, AWS DevOps Engineer Professional, AWS Security Specialty, Kubernetes certification, Terraform certification, or similar cloud credentials.

• Experience in supporting federal government IT environments, Public Trust programs, or regulated enterprise delivery is preferred.

• Experience with Section 508, cybersecurity, auditability, data protection, and operational documentation compliance is desired.
