Senior DevOps Engineer – Platform

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Manage and enhance the multi-region AWS and EKS platform, utilizing Terraform for code management and deploying it via ArgoCD.

• Take ownership of CI/CD processes across repositories, leveraging CircleCI and GitHub Actions.

• Ensure a swift and reliable transition from commit to production.

• Lead comprehensive infrastructure migrations, which include containerizing applications, transferring databases across providers and regions, and executing approved cutover plans with rollback strategies.

• Oversee PostgreSQL and RDS at a production scale, involving version upgrades, instance sizing, and performance optimization.

• Maintain the Ruby on Rails runtime by implementing framework updates, performance improvements, and autoscaling initiatives.

• Manage cloud costs through rightsizing, autoscaling, savings-plan utilization, and providing monthly financial reports.

• Conduct disaster recovery tests and incident readiness drills, addressing any identified issues.

• Serve as the infrastructure liaison for engineering, security, and commercial teams.

• Participate in a 24/7 PagerDuty on-call rotation as agreed.

• Create runbooks, decision documentation, and incident reports.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in DevOps, platform, or infrastructure engineering.

• Significant expertise with AWS.

• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes in a production environment, preferably EKS.

• Strong skills in Terraform and a mindset focused on infrastructure as code.

• Experience executing real database migrations or provider cutovers, including verification processes.

• Proficient with Linux, containers, and GitOps methodologies.

• Solid scripting capabilities in Python, Go, Bash, or similar languages.

• Adequate application literacy to debug issues across the stack.

• Proficient in English at a working professional level.

• Familiarity with Ruby on Rails (preferred but not required).

• Experience in cost optimization or FinOps at scale (preferred but not required).

• Background in regulated industries such as ISO 27001, SOC 2, HIPAA, or GDPR (preferred but not required).

• Experience in infrastructure consolidation after an acquisition (preferred but not required).

• Proficiency in Polish (preferred but not required).
