Senior DevOps Engineer, AWS

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Costa Rica.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the infrastructure, pipelines, and operational aspects of the new service within the client's existing AWS environment.

• Design and provision AWS infrastructure tailored for containerized and serverless services.

• Implement infrastructure-as-code to create reproducible environments for Development, QA, Staging, and Production.

• Develop CI/CD pipelines for .NET and React applications, incorporating automated testing, security scanning, and promotion gates.

• Apply least-privilege IAM principles and manage secrets for third-party integrations.

• Ensure the security of public-facing endpoints and webhooks.

• Provide observability through logging, metrics, dashboards, and alert notifications.

• Oversee release management, including deployment strategies, rollback procedures, and production releases.

• Create runbooks and handover documentation.

• Maintain visibility of AWS costs.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 6 years in DevOps / Cloud Engineering, with at least 4 years managing production workloads on AWS.

• Practical experience with ECS / Fargate, Lambda, SNS / SQS, IAM, VPC, and CloudWatch.

• Proficient in infrastructure-as-code using Terraform or AWS CDK / CloudFormation.

• Experience in designing CI/CD pipelines for .NET and Node / React applications utilizing Bitbucket Pipelines, GitHub Actions, or similar tools.

• Strong expertise in Docker and containerized deployment methodologies.

• Knowledge of secrets management and cloud security best practices.

• Familiarity with observability practices including logging, metrics, and alerting.

• Excellent proficiency in written and spoken English for effective client communication.

• AWS certifications are a plus.

• Experience in hosting Shopify apps or webhook consumers is advantageous.

• Knowledge in designing high-availability solutions for latency-sensitive e-commerce services is a plus.

• Experience with security hardening techniques is beneficial.

• Familiarity with AI-assisted infrastructure and pipeline development is a bonus.
