Manager, Site Reliability Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Lead a team tasked with ensuring reliability within the Akamai Inference Platform.

• Collaborate with product engineering teams to integrate reliability into swiftly changing products.

• Direct SRE initiatives focused on serverless inference.

• Guarantee global-scale performance, observability, and operational resilience.

• Head the team responsible for the reliability of Akamai's Inference compute and platform services.

• Manage hiring strategies, candidate assessments, and interview coordination for SRE positions.

• Lead, mentor, and support an established team of SREs.

• Encourage team development and advocate for best practices throughout the organization.

• Implement and enhance SRE practices, including SLOs, SLIs, error budgets, capacity planning, and fault management.

• Promote and uphold Operational Readiness Reviews.

• Set quality gates and develop comprehensive runbooks.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in leading SRE, Systems, or Platform Engineering teams within cloud environments.

• Demonstrated engineering management experience during periods of growth.

• Proficiency in SRE methodologies, including SLOs and error budgets.

• Experience in building or maintaining observability platforms for distributed systems.

• Hands-on experience in defining and conducting Operational Readiness Reviews or Production Readiness Reviews.

• Knowledge of AI infrastructure and serverless inference workflows.

• Experience managing multi-node GPU clusters to optimize performance and scalability.

• Capability to implement automation initiatives and enhance operational workflows and infrastructure efficiency.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with product teams and architects.

• Familiarity with SLOs, SLIs, error budgets, capacity planning, fault management, observability, quality gates, and runbooks.
