Senior DevOps Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Advocate for a DevOps culture emphasizing automation, continuous enhancement, collaboration, and transparency.

• Collaborate with development teams to enhance reliability, performance, and deployment methodologies.

• Design and implement an Internal Developer Portal (IDP) that offers self-service infrastructure, application templates, and deployment workflows.

• Create streamlined processes to expedite onboarding and alleviate cognitive load.

• Integrate the IDP with CI/CD systems, cloud infrastructure, identity management, and observability tools.

• Manage service catalogs, documentation standards, and ownership metadata.

• Design, implement, and sustain automated CI/CD pipelines for Java, .NET, and Node.js applications.

• Establish standardized deployment workflows across AWS and/or Azure platforms.

• Implement automated testing, security scanning, and quality gates.

• Develop reusable pipeline templates and shared libraries.

• Enhance build and deployment performance, reliability, and observability.

• Design and oversee cloud infrastructure using infrastructure as code methodologies.

• Create reusable Terraform modules and enforce governance through policy-as-code.

• Implement secure and scalable networking and cloud-native architecture patterns.

• Ensure high availability, scalability, and readiness for disaster recovery.

• Establish monitoring, logging, and alerting strategies.

• Integrate DevSecOps practices, vulnerability scanning, and secrets management.

• Drive proof-of-concept projects for new tools, platforms, and automation processes.

• Work collaboratively across engineering, security, and operations teams.

• Be willing to travel independently up to 10%.

⛳️ Requirements

• 10 or more years of progressive experience in software engineering, DevOps, cloud engineering, or platform engineering.

• Proven progression from software development to cloud infrastructure and automation.

• Six or more years of practical experience with CI/CD tools and contemporary software delivery practices.

• Extensive development expertise in Java and/or Node.js application environments.

• Strong hands-on experience with AWS and/or Azure, encompassing networking, serverless, and managed cloud infrastructure.

• Advanced proficiency in Terraform and principles of infrastructure as code.

• Experience in designing scalable cloud-native architectures.

• Robust knowledge of Windows Server and Microsoft SQL Server, including SQL Server Availability Groups.

• Strong scripting abilities using Python, PowerShell, Bash, or similar technologies.

• Experience with Terraform, Ansible, and AWS CloudFormation.

• Solid understanding of secure software delivery, Git branching strategies, and DevSecOps practices.

• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes.

• Experience in leading technical assessments and proof-of-concept projects.

• Excellent collaboration skills with engineering, security, and operations teams.

• Clear and transparent communication style with an emphasis on documentation and shared ownership.

• Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, engineering, mathematics, information systems, or a related technical field.

• Valid driver's license is required.

• AWS and/or Azure certifications are preferred.

• Professional-level or specialty certifications are preferred.

• Additional certifications in DevOps, Kubernetes, or cloud technologies are advantageous.

• U.S. work authorization without current or future visa sponsorship is required.
