Senior DevOps Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain.

📋 Description

• Design, construct, and enhance the AWS cloud platform.

• Take complete ownership of services, domains, and essential systems.

• Participate in architectural decisions and the long-term evolution of the cloud platform across multi-account and multi-region AWS environments.

• Build and sustain infrastructure utilizing Terraform.

• Establish standards for IaC modules, versioning, state management, and reusable practices.

• Advance CI/CD practices, deployment strategies, and operational standards.

• Implement automation and GitOps workflows utilizing tools such as Atlantis and ArgoCD.

• Manage complex and critical production issues, lead root-cause and impact analyses, and execute sustainable solutions.

• Define and enhance logging, monitoring, tracing, SLIs/SLOs, and distributed tracing.

• Implement and uphold platform controls to support ENS Nivel Medio and NIS2 compliance requirements.

• Promote AWS cloud cost efficiency through governance, resource management, budgeting, and optimization.

• Share responsibility for production health and design disaster recovery strategies, including RTO/RPO definitions and multi-region failover.

• Collaborate with development teams and technical stakeholders on architecture, platform evolution, and engineering best practices.

• Mentor and guide less experienced engineers.

• Report to the DevOps Team Lead within the Cloud area.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of professional experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), Platform Engineering, or a related field.

• Strong expertise in AWS and multi-account environments, encompassing cloud networking, security, and scalable infrastructure design.

• Advanced proficiency with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC), including reusable modules, multi-environment architectures, versioning, and state management.

• Experience in designing and operating secure, scalable, and highly available cloud platforms in production settings.

• Familiarity with containerized environments and orchestration on AWS, including ECS/Fargate and/or Kubernetes/EKS.

• Experience with GitOps practices and CI/CD pipelines using ArgoCD, Flux, GitLab CI, or similar tools.

• Practical experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Dynatrace, CloudWatch, Grafana, or Prometheus.

• Background in automation scripting and Git-based workflows.

• Experience managing relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL/EnterpriseDB or MySQL, including high availability, failover, upgrades, and performance optimization.

• Ability to investigate application and infrastructure issues end-to-end, including Java/JVM troubleshooting, logs, performance concerns, and platform-related bottlenecks.

• Understanding of high availability, disaster recovery, and business continuity, including RTO/RPO concepts and resilient architecture patterns.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a capacity to work independently on complex and ambiguous technical challenges.

• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or similar.

• High proficiency in both Spanish and English, spoken and written.

• Bonus qualifications include experience with Keycloak, advanced PostgreSQL/EnterpriseDB, Zscaler or Twingate, Istio or Linkerd, cloud/platform security, vulnerability management, compliance, distributed systems, Java backend development, multi-cloud or hybrid cloud architectures, and tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
