This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.
• Advance the infrastructure, delivery systems, and operational methodologies that empower engineering teams to develop and operate dependable software.
• Implement scalable strategies for cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, observability, alerting, operational readiness, and maintenance.
• Collaborate with software engineers to enhance the developer experience and bolster the reliability, security, performance, and cost efficiency of Karat’s hosted SaaS platform.
• Take ownership and continuously develop Karat’s AWS SaaS infrastructure.
• Design, optimize, and manage CI/CD pipelines utilizing CircleCI and associated tools.
• Create and sustain observability features such as metrics, logs, traces, dashboards, and actionable alerting using Datadog and related technologies.
• Employ SRE principles to ensure service reliability, availability, performance, capacity planning, incident response, root-cause analysis, and operational learning.
• Shape technical decisions and delivery methodologies across engineering through collaboration and established standards.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, infrastructure engineering, platform engineering, or a closely related field.
• Extensive hands-on experience with AWS; this is a mandatory requirement.
• Proven track record in designing, operating, and enhancing CI/CD systems utilizing CircleCI, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or any other leading CI/CD platform.
• Strong proficiency with Docker and containerized application environments.
• Solid understanding of Linux, networking, security, and cloud infrastructure principles.
• Practical experience applying SRE principles to production systems, encompassing observability, alerting, incident response, root-cause analysis, capacity planning, and reliability enhancement.
• Hands-on experience with a leading telemetry and observability platform, such as Datadog, New Relic, Dynatrace, Grafana Cloud, or Splunk.
• Experience in designing monitoring and alerting frameworks.
• Familiarity with cloud cost management and optimization strategies.
• Experience collaborating with application engineering teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to work comfortably with globally distributed teams and regularly engage with colleagues based in the United States.
• Must be a resident of Bengaluru (formerly known as Bangalore), India.
• Availability to work during U.S. business hours.
