Senior DevOps Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Automate and enhance backend infrastructure that supports Jamf Cloud and internal systems for software development and deployment.

• Build, implement, and sustain production environments utilizing infrastructure as code, configuration as code, serverless architectures, and containerization.

• Recognize and incorporate security best practices into system designs and configurations.

• Assess, plan, set up, and execute new software services.

• Create custom tools and automation solutions through programming and scripting.

• Maintain and scale continuous integration and continuous delivery environments effectively.

• Apply data lifecycle management strategies to sensitive information through backups, permission management, and auditing processes.

• Participate in an on-call rotation, manage alerts by triaging and escalating as necessary, and assist with disaster recovery efforts.

• Engage as an Agile team member in code reviews, velocity estimation, planning sessions, and other Agile methodologies.

• Collaborate with product owners, development teams, and cloud and delivery teams.

• Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation.

• Establish technical direction for team responsibilities.

• Provide cross-training to staff on emerging technologies.

• Delegate tasks and mentor colleagues.

• Perform additional duties as required in line with departmental policies and procedures.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience with continuous integration tools and techniques, configuration management and deployment tools, or systems administration with a focus on performance analysis, capacity planning, and forecasting.

• A minimum of 3 years of experience as a power user of operating systems such as macOS and Linux, including proficiency in shell scripting.

• At least 3 years of experience in a contemporary programming language like Java, Python, or Golang.

• A minimum of 3 years of experience with source control management tools such as Git or Subversion.

• At least 3 years of experience utilizing issue tracking software such as JIRA or Salesforce.

• Experience in developing enterprise-grade software and a solid understanding of the software development life cycle is preferred.

• Familiarity with infrastructure as code practices such as Terraform or CloudFormation is preferred.

• Knowledge of enterprise security and hardening best practices is preferred.

• Experience in building and maintaining cloud-native services, especially on platforms like Amazon Web Services, is preferred.

• Proficiency with monitoring and logging tools such as LogicMonitor, Sumologic, or ELK is preferred.

• Experience with containerization concepts and Kubernetes is preferred.

• Experience with structured databases such as MySQL or DynamoDB is preferred.

• Hands-on experience with AI-driven coding assistants like GitHub Copilot or Cursor.

• A Bachelor's Degree is preferred.

• A combination of relevant experience and education may be considered.

• Commonly held certifications for this role include LPIC-1, LPIC-2, LPIC-3, RHCE, AWS Solutions Architect Associate, AWS Certified Developer Associate, or AWS Certified SysOps Associate, which are preferred.
