Senior DevOps Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of solutions from inception to completion, encompassing AWS infrastructure and network design, CI/CD implementation, application configuration, deployment, observability, and production support.

• Design and enhance secure, highly available AWS environments, facilitating customer connectivity and hybrid-cloud integrations.

• Create reusable Terraform modules while maintaining reviewed, version-controlled infrastructure code with managed changes and minimal drift.

• Design, optimize, and manage Jenkins delivery pipelines and GitLab integrations, including pipeline-as-code and Groovy-based automation.

• Deploy and manage containerized services on Amazon EKS utilizing Docker, Helm, and YAML-based configurations.

• Automate Linux and platform configurations using Ansible, which includes installation and lifecycle management of GitLab, Jenkins, Nexus, SonarQube, and OpenGrok.

• Manage GitOps-based EIS Suite deployments across development, pre-production, and production environments via Argo CD.

• Implement and troubleshoot AWS networking, DNS, load balancing, identity, permissions, and secure access, adhering to least-privilege principles.

• Develop monitoring, logging, dashboards, and alerts; diagnose complex incidents across cloud, platform, pipeline, and application delivery layers.

• Integrate security and quality controls into automation processes, covering privileged access, secrets management, code quality, and DevSecOps practices.

• Enhance engineering standards, produce operational guidance, evaluate technical solutions, and mentor junior engineers.

• Utilize AI-assisted engineering tools to enhance automation, code quality, documentation, troubleshooting, and delivery workflows, ensuring security, review, and human supervision.

• Contribute to the evolution of the internal developer platform through reusable self-service patterns, platform enhancements, and shared accountability for adoption and results.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of practical experience in DevOps, cloud engineering, platform engineering, site reliability engineering, or a closely related field.

• In-depth practical knowledge of AWS architecture and services, such as EKS, IAM, VPC, Security Groups, Route 53, load balancers, EC2, S3, EBS, RDS, and ElastiCache.

• Significant production experience with Terraform, covering module design, state management, code reviews, and safe infrastructure changes.

• Extensive hands-on experience in designing, building, troubleshooting, and maintaining Jenkins pipelines, including pipeline-as-code and Groovy automation.

• Strong hands-on familiarity with GitLab as a source-control platform, encompassing repository configuration, access controls, merge-request workflows, code reviews, and integration with Jenkins-based CI/CD pipelines.

• Solid knowledge of Linux administration and networking, including routing, DNS, firewalls, VPN/IPsec, and connectivity troubleshooting.

• Direct experience with Argo CD and GitOps-based deployment in Kubernetes environments.

• Proficient in Kubernetes, Docker, and Helm, covering deployment configurations, troubleshooting, scaling, and high-availability considerations.

• Practical experience with Ansible for consistent software installation and configuration management.

• Strong Git skills with the ability to automate processes using Bash and/or Python.

• Familiarity with Java application build and delivery ecosystems, including Maven, and experience with artifact repositories.

• Systems-thinking approach to troubleshooting production issues.

• Excellent communication skills, sound technical judgment, ability to collaborate across teams, and experience in mentoring or providing technical leadership.

• Relevant certifications are advantageous but not mandatory.
