Senior DevOps Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Argentina.

📋 Description

• Design and oversee multi-AZ AWS cloud infrastructure, networking, storage, and databases.

• Create and manage Docker-based containerized applications and microservices in a production environment.

• Diagnose and resolve issues in Python and Java applications, addressing memory, concurrency, and performance challenges.

• Manage Infrastructure as Code utilizing Terraform, CloudFormation, or AWS CDK.

• Develop automated CI/CD pipelines that include integrated security scanning and testing.

• Execute zero-downtime deployment strategies, such as blue/green, canary, and rolling updates.

• Centralize logging, metrics, tracing, and alerts through observability tools.

• Configure application and cluster autoscaling based on load testing and usage metrics.

• Implement resilience patterns including circuit breakers, retries, and dead-letter queues.

• Establish disaster recovery plans (RTO/RPO) and uphold security best practices related to IAM and encryption.

• Collaborate closely with development teams to ensure the delivery of reliable services, secure deployments, effective observability, and efficient resource utilization.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of practical experience in DevOps/SRE roles managing production AWS environments (EC2, ECS/EKS, VPC, RDS).

• Strong proficiency in Docker containerization and Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, CloudFormation, or AWS CDK.

• Comprehensive operational knowledge in troubleshooting Python (Gunicorn/Celery) and Java (JVM, thread pools, GC) runtimes.

• Demonstrated experience in building CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and safe deployment strategies (blue/green, canary).

• Hands-on expertise with observability tools (CloudWatch, OpenSearch, Loki), disaster recovery concepts (RTO/RPO), and scripting in Python/Bash.

• Familiarity with advanced autoscaling techniques based on queue depth, message age, or custom application metrics.

• Experience in capacity planning, sizing, and resource tuning for CPU, memory, storage, and IOPS.

• Relevant AWS Certifications (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional or Solutions Architect – Professional) are considered a plus.
