Senior DevOps Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and scale essential products.

• Create backend services, frontend experiences, and cloud-native applications.

• Offer technical leadership and mentorship.

• Shape engineering best practices throughout the team.

• Establish repeatable service-delivery methodologies via modular, reusable automation and a developer platform that facilitates self-service delivery.

• Engage in governance controls aimed at minimizing risk and fostering standardization.

• Ensure service delivery excellence for customer-facing and adjacent products and services as part of the Developer Experience team.

• Enhance enablement practices, which include design reviews, service launch coordination, production readiness assessments, service-level objective definitions and reviews, incident management, and cost awareness.

• Collaborate with delivery teams to establish product-specific metrics and remediation strategies.

• Conduct system analysis, testing, and fault troubleshooting.

• Be part of an on-call rotation to address and triage production issue escalations outside of regular hours.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 4 years of experience managing high availability systems and supporting infrastructure within customer-facing production settings.

• Expertise in a high-level programming language (e.g., Python, Go).

• Skills in Bash scripting and Linux.

• Familiarity with contemporary technical operating practices.

• Experience in system architecture and design.

• Proficient in continuous integration and continuous delivery using tools such as Jenkins, FluxCD, and GitHub Actions.

• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.

• Experience with AWS cloud services and Kubernetes.

• Understanding of SRE principles and practices.

• Familiarity with AWS services including ECS, EKS, ECR, EC2, S3, RDS, VPCs, IAM policy documents, policies, roles, instance profiles, and CloudWatch Logs.

• Experience with Docker containers and orchestration using ECS and EKS.

• Understanding of Kubernetes cluster concepts and design.

• Experience enhancing service observability through monitoring agents, metrics, logging, and dashboards.

• Knowledge of OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, and observability platforms such as Datadog, Splunk, Dynatrace, or Observe.

• Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation and respond to production issue escalations during off-hours.

• Successful completion of employment verification and background checks.

• Verification of job titles and employment dates with two previous employers.
