This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Oversee stewardship planning for a designated portfolio of individual donors, foundations, and corporate partners.
• Create customized stewardship plans tailored to donor interests, giving history, relationship stages, and engagement methods.
• Ensure prompt acknowledgments, impact updates, reports, recognition, and other donor interactions.
• Organize donor meetings, briefings, site visits, events, preparations, staffing, and follow-ups.
• Collaborate with the Chief Growth Officer, President and CEO, board members, and other organizational leaders for high-value donor engagement.
• Manage donors and prospects through the processes of identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, renewal, and upgrades.
• Develop and maintain relationship strategies, next actions, target asks, timelines, and ownership responsibilities.
• Facilitate portfolio and pipeline reviews, identifying stalled relationships, opportunities, risks, and decision points.
• Keep precise records of donors, prospects, gifts, contacts, and activities in Salesforce or the designated development CRM.
• Create donor communications and stewardship schedules.
• Write and revise personalized outreach materials, acknowledgments, thank-you letters, impact updates, briefings, proposals, reports, and renewal communications.
• Convert program activities, data, and stories into engaging donor communications.
• Cultivate, solicit, and steward assigned individual and institutional donors and prospects.
• Prepare customized funding opportunities and requests aligned with donor interests and organizational goals.
• Assist with grant proposals, reports, renewals, and communications with funders.
• Represent Vision To Learn in meetings with donors and funders, at regional events, site visits, and external engagements.
• Work in collaboration with Communications, Operations, Finance, Human Resources, and program teams.
• Monitor the health of the portfolio, including contacts, next steps, retention, renewals, upgrades, pipeline movement, and data accuracy.
• Provide the Chief Growth Officer with updates on the progress of the portfolio, opportunities, risks, and resource requirements.
• Bachelor’s degree is required.
• At least 5 years of fundraising and development experience, including direct responsibility for donor stewardship, portfolio management, and donor communications.
• Proven ability to implement moves-management strategies and advance individual and institutional donor relationships through various stages of engagement.
• Outstanding writing and editing capabilities, with the proficiency to convey complex program information in clear, compelling, and donor-focused communications.
• Experience in cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding donors and funders.
• Strong relationship management skills and sound judgment in interactions with donors, executives, board members, and colleagues across different functions.
• Excellent organizational, project management, attention to detail, and follow-through skills across multiple relationships and deadlines.
• Capability to utilize data and portfolio insights to prioritize activities, assess progress, and enhance donor engagement.
• Proficient in development CRM systems; experience with Salesforce is preferred.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a geographically dispersed organization.
• Willingness to travel regularly for donor engagement, site visits, regional events, and organizational meetings.
