📋 Description

• Define and enhance Mercury’s interaction philosophy, emphasizing AI-native, conversational, adaptive, and proactive experiences across various products.

• Establish a high standard for product quality within the Interfaces organization, which includes mobile, dashboard, and agentic products.

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of product designers.

• Collaborate with Product and Engineering to shape product strategy and integrate design early in ambiguous challenges.

• Utilize critique, prototyping, exploration, and collaborative hands-on efforts to refine concepts and enhance experiences.

• Elevate the standards of craft and product thinking within Mercury’s broader Design organization by sharing frameworks, insights, and innovative ideas.

• Create interaction patterns that can inform how Mercury develops software company-wide.

• Outstanding product taste along with solid fundamentals in visual and interaction design.

• Strong perspective on AI-native interfaces.

• Experience in experimenting with conversational, adaptive, intelligent, and proactive interaction models.

• Proven track record in leading and developing product designers.

• Capability to identify individual designers' strengths and offer clear, constructive feedback.

• Ability to conceptualize interactions as systems, incorporating patterns, information architecture, behaviors, and principles.

• Experience in strategic partnership with Product and Engineering teams.

• Understanding of technical limitations.

• Capacity to operate autonomously with a well-defined point of view.

• Experience in designing AI-powered or consumer software, strong prototyping skills, close collaboration with Design Systems, or deep expertise in motion and interaction are especially relevant but not mandatory.
