This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and manage scalable database solutions utilizing AWS Aurora PostgreSQL and Amazon DynamoDB.

• Create and implement logical and physical data models, database schemas, indexes, views, stored procedures, functions, and other database objects.

• Enhance, develop, and troubleshoot complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and database code.

• Conduct database performance analysis and tuning, focusing on query optimization, indexing strategies, execution-plan analysis, partitioning, and monitoring resource utilization.

• Investigate and resolve production-related issues, including bottlenecks, deadlocks, locking/contention concerns, replication issues, and data inconsistencies.

• Design and optimize DynamoDB data models, partition key strategies, secondary indexes, and access patterns.

• Build and sustain ETL/ELT processes, data integration pipelines, and data migration solutions.

• Collaborate with application developers, architects, DevSecOps engineers, and cloud engineers.

• Implement database monitoring, capacity planning, backup/recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.

• Ensure adherence to security, governance, auditing, and data protection standards.

• Engage in root cause analysis, performance reviews, and initiatives for continuous improvement.

• Assist in database deployments through CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code processes within AWS cloud environments.

• Utilize AI-assisted development and database management tools to enhance productivity, code quality, troubleshooting, and automation.


⛳️ Requirements

• Must be a U.S. Citizen.

• Must currently reside in the Continental United States.

• Must be willing to work during Eastern Standard Time business hours.

• Ability to pass a 7-year background check and obtain/maintain a U.S. Government Clearance.

• Strong communication and presentation abilities.

• Must possess the ability to prioritize tasks and self-initiate projects.

• Must be adaptable and flexible to shifting priorities.

• Must demonstrate enthusiasm and a passion for learning and continuous improvement.

• Must be open to collaboration, feedback, and client requests.

• 5+ years of practical database development and engineering experience supporting enterprise applications.

• Strong expertise in AWS Aurora PostgreSQL.

• Experience in designing, implementing, and supporting Amazon DynamoDB solutions.

• Advanced SQL development skills.

• Solid understanding of relational database design principles, normalization, denormalization, and best practices in data modeling.

• Experience in diagnosing and resolving database performance challenges.

• Experience in analyzing query execution plans and applying tuning recommendations.

• Experience in developing and supporting ETL/ELT processes and data integration solutions.

• Familiarity with AWS database services, such as Aurora PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, RDS, S3, and data migration services.

• Working knowledge of database monitoring, backup/recovery, high availability, disaster recovery, and operational support practices.

• Experience in implementing data security controls, encryption, access management, auditing, and compliance requirements.

• Experience in supporting cloud-native applications in AWS environments using CI/CD and DevSecOps practices.

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

• Preferred: AWS Certified Database Specialty, AWS Certified Developer Associate, or AWS Certified Solutions Architect certification.

• Preferred: Experience in supporting Federal Government systems and environments requiring security controls and compliance frameworks.

• Preferred: Experience with high-volume transactional processing systems, large-scale data platforms, or regulatory reporting applications.

• Preferred: Experience with PostgreSQL administration and performance tuning in AWS Aurora environments.

• Preferred: Experience with database observability and monitoring tools such as Amazon CloudWatch, Performance Insights, Datadog, Splunk, or similar platforms.

• Preferred: Experience with AWS Redshift, AWS Glue, DMS, Lake Formation, or modern data platform architectures.

• Preferred: Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK).

• Preferred: Experience leveraging AI-assisted development and database optimization tools.
