Senior Data Scientist, Platform

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Perform analysis and in-depth investigations on complex business challenges

• Generate insights and recommendations that support team decision-making processes

• Develop, optimize, or evaluate machine learning models and AI systems utilized throughout Coinbase

• Manage a wide range of data and metrics, encompassing definitions, primary logging, and data visualizations

• Lead code reviews and offer expertise in SQL and Python

• Design and oversee the maintenance of ETL jobs

• Plan, execute, and enhance experimentation and causal analysis

• Uphold statistical rigor and foster stakeholder confidence

• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Design teams to shape the roadmap and gain insights into user needs

⛳️ Requirements

• BA/BS in a quantitative discipline (such as Math, Statistics, Physics, or Computer Science) with a minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience, or a PhD in a quantitative field with at least 3+ years of relevant experience

• Proven experience leading significant data science projects that address ambiguous problem areas

• Capacity to influence external stakeholders by transforming data findings into persuasive narratives

• Practical knowledge of applying complex modeling frameworks to real-world business challenges

• Professional proficiency in SQL and Python

• Experience with digital products within an iterative development cycle

• Excellent communication skills, positive attitude, commitment to continuous learning, and effective execution

• Responsible use of generative AI with human oversight to produce business-ready analytical outputs and models

• Must reside in the USA
