This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +41 more states.
• Utilize advanced mathematical and statistical techniques to address intricate business challenges that bolster HCSC’s Medicare Stars analytics strategy.
• Gather, integrate, and evaluate healthcare claims, clinical outcomes, quality metrics, provider performance, member results, and internal business-process data.
• Identify areas for enhancement in Medicare Star Ratings.
• Conduct sophisticated statistical analyses to confirm and quantify trends.
• Implement machine learning, predictive modeling, and probabilistic methods to create predictive algorithms.
• Assess model effectiveness through real-world outcomes.
• Design experiments and methodologies.
• Develop visualizations and analytical applications.
• Convert findings into actionable insights for business decisions, program improvements, and quality enhancement initiatives.
• Collaborate with teams in clinical, pharmacy, customer experience, product, and operations.
• Provide the data science perspective in cross-functional teams and contribute to decisions aimed at enhancing member outcomes, Stars performance, affordability, and enterprise value.
• Bachelor’s degree with 3 years of relevant experience in a mathematical, statistical, computer science, engineering, physics, economics, or similar quantitative field; OR an actuarial credential; OR a master’s degree with 2 years of experience in a related quantitative field; OR a Ph.D. in a relevant quantitative field; OR 7 years of experience in a pertinent quantitative field.

• Required experience with statistical software such as SAS, Dataiku, R, and/or Python.
• Statistical and/or data mining experience in propensity score modeling, multivariate regression, and machine learning.
• Understanding of healthcare data and the processes of healthcare delivery systems.
