Senior Data Scientist – Delivery Tech

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Create, develop, and refine algorithmic strategies for delivery fees, including dynamic and contextual pricing.

• Formulate optimization and machine learning techniques for order batching, assignment, and routing processes.

• Generate demand forecasts to optimize driver supply planning, scheduling, incentives, and pricing strategies.

• Design and evaluate A/B tests, switchback experiments, and geo/market-level studies utilizing causal inference methods.

• Take full ownership of solutions: define problems, build features and models, collaborate with engineering partners for deployment, and monitor, analyze, and enhance production performance.

• Collaborate with product, engineering, operations, and finance teams to transform business inquiries into actionable solutions.

• Discover machine learning, optimization, and causal inference opportunities by analyzing customer behaviors, delivery partner dynamics, and data insights.

⛳️ Requirements

• MS or PhD in Operations Research, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, along with 2+ years of relevant experience in delivery, logistics, marketplace, or pricing challenges (or over 8 years of industry experience in data science).

• Solid expertise in at least two of the following areas: pricing/revenue optimization, mathematical optimization, time-series and demand forecasting, experimentation, and causal inference.

• Practical experience in designing experiments for two-sided or operational marketplaces, including switchback or cluster-randomized designs and techniques for variance reduction.

• Capability to convert vague business challenges into precise technical goals and deliver quantifiable outcomes.

• Proficiency in machine learning and statistical analysis.

• Skilled in Python, SQL, and version control systems.

• Experience in deploying models into production alongside engineering teams.
