Applied Data Scientist – Performance Management, AI Solutions

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Create effective solutions utilizing Python, AI, data analytics, and automation to tackle operational performance challenges.

• Collaborate with analysts, engineers, and stakeholders to establish requirements and provide technical solutions.

• Develop, test, enhance, and implement reusable code, analytical tools, and AI-driven workflows.

• Examine operational data to uncover risks, recurring issues, root causes, and opportunities for performance enhancement.

• Leverage AI and machine learning to speed up analysis, recognize patterns, assist in decision-making, and prioritize POAMs.

• Create prototypes and proof-of-concept solutions, transforming successful approaches into sustainable capabilities.

• Automate analytical processes and consolidate data sources.

• Convert findings into actionable recommendations and measurable improvements.

• Present findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Foster AI adoption and skill development among team members.

• Broaden successful solutions across wider Navy performance initiatives.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with 4–8 years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree with 2–6 years of relevant experience; additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

• U.S. citizenship is required.

• Active DoD secret security clearance is mandatory.

• Proven experience in developing and implementing data-driven, analytical, automation, or AI-enabled solutions.

• Proficient in Python programming.

• Experience engaging directly with stakeholders to articulate business needs and requirements.

• Familiarity with data analysis, applied machine learning, or AI techniques.

• Capability to work with large, complex, or imperfect datasets.

• Strong independent problem-solving abilities.

• Proficient in conveying technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Collaborative and results-driven mindset.

• Preferred skills include: AI-enabled applications, automation solutions, generative AI, LLMs, AI APIs, SQL, data pipelines, APIs, Git, testing, documentation, reusable code design, technical consulting, prototypes, operational performance metrics, continuous improvement, contract-driven environments, and enterprise or government settings.
