Senior Data Scientist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with the Revenue team to enhance coupons, discounts, and campaigns, maximizing purchase conversions.

• Evaluate price perception and consumer behavior to uncover areas for enhancement.

• Strike a balance between commercial attractiveness, customer experience, and revenue growth.

• Design and improve prediction models for Zé Delivery.

• Establish and manage data pipelines and features in PySpark to facilitate scalable model support.

• Formulate product and offer recommendation strategies throughout the customer journey.

• Define, implement, and analyze A/B tests to evaluate the effectiveness of models and campaigns.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or a comparable higher education qualification.

• Experience working with consumer data in relation to recommendation and personalization challenges.

• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Data Scientist.

• Proficient in Python and PySpark, with experience in distributed processing and managing large datasets in a cloud environment (AWS or Azure).

• Proven experience in developing machine learning models for recommendation, prediction, and classification.

• Familiarity with recommendation techniques, including matrix factorization (e.g., ALS), neighborhood-based models, and embeddings.

• Experience in market basket analysis and association rules (e.g., Apriori, FP-Growth).

• Skilled in clustering and customer segmentation methods based on behavior and lifecycle.

• Knowledgeable in causal inference, A/B testing, and measuring incremental impact.

• Experience with both offline and online evaluation of recommendation models (e.g., NDCG, MAP, uplift, and business metrics).

• Strong foundation in statistics, machine learning, and model validation.

• Capable of translating analytical models into business decisions and understanding their impact on key metrics.

• Preferred qualifications include experience with contemporary recommendation architectures, user and item embeddings, real-time and low-latency recommendation systems, feature stores, online/offline feature serving, multi-armed bandits, reinforcement learning applied to recommendation, a graduate degree in Data Science or a related field, excellent communication skills, and the ability to derive actionable business insights.
