Senior Data Platform Engineer, Enterprise Merchant Integrations

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Create mapping and transformation systems that highlight the distinctiveness of each merchant while ensuring consistent downstream data.

• Develop tools and standards to expedite and secure the onboarding process for enterprise merchants.

• Assist with the migration of merchants to the current platform capabilities.

• Manage complex integrations for merchants.

• Construct error reporting mechanisms for merchants that address validation and processing errors.

• Design validation, reconciliation, automated failure triage, and reliable alerting processes.

• Broaden the event-driven architecture utilizing technologies such as Kafka, EventBridge, SNS, Step Functions, and SQS.

• Implement lifecycle webhooks for service and order-related events.

• Oversee projects from design to production, encompassing monitoring, observability, data quality checks, and reconciliation.

• Provide mentorship to others and contribute to the development of integration standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• 4-6 years of experience in Data Engineering, Platform Engineering, or a closely related discipline.

• Extensive experience with AWS serverless technologies: Lambda, DynamoDB, Glue, and Step Functions.

• Practical experience with event-driven architectures: Kafka, EventBridge, and SNS.

• Proficient in Python and TypeScript.

• Proven experience in building and securing large-scale data platforms and integrations.

• Experience in developing platforms and tools for use by other engineers.

• Background in delivering clean data to a data warehouse such as Snowflake or a data lake.

• Experience in constructing reconciliation processes for data warehouses or data lakes.

• Strong ownership mentality with the capability to drive projects to completion independently.

• Experience in mentorship with a humble and collaborative attitude.

• Bonus: experience in designing clear and actionable error reporting systems for external or non-technical users.
