Senior Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +43 more states.

📋 Description

• Design and implement data pipelines that enable analytical capabilities.

• Convert business requirements into technical solutions.

• Develop datasets to support analytic and data science tasks.

• Model the Core Data Domain to facilitate various access patterns and use cases.

• Create and enhance data models and schemas for analytics, reporting, and machine learning applications.

• Construct and refine ETL/ELT pipelines to ingest, process, and transform substantial datasets.

• Execute performance tuning, partitioning, and clustering to enhance query efficiency and minimize costs.

• Set and uphold data quality standards, governance frameworks, and security protocols.

• Work alongside data scientists and analysts to develop data solutions that integrate with BI tools and machine learning models.

• Produce documentation for pipelines, workflows, and related processes.

• Share best practices and mentor less experienced data engineers.

• Architect and design data infrastructure tailored for analytical workloads.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong expertise in SQL with experience in crafting complex queries.

• Proficiency in Python, particularly in relation to ETL pipelines.

• Experience in deploying data pipelines within cloud environments (Azure, AWS, GCP).

• Understanding of data governance best practices in cloud settings.

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of collaborating effectively with data scientists, analysts, and product owners.

• Bachelor's degree preferred, along with specialized training or relevant professional qualifications.

• Experience with machine learning processes on GCP is preferred.

• Familiarity with healthcare data is a plus (Tuva or OMOP Models).
