Senior Data Infrastructure Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, construct, and sustain essential data pipelines for the business.

• Develop data ingestion processes and AWS Glue/Spark jobs that supply the data warehouse and Tableau.

• Establish and manage the data warehouse, orchestration, and BI/reporting platform across various regions.

• Assist in assessing and defining the warehouse strategy, including lakehouse platforms like Databricks.

• Define and refine event-driven contracts between producer and consumer teams.

• Analyze the trade-offs between batch versus streaming, CDC, reprocessing, and multi-tenant/multi-region scenarios.

• Design and enhance warehouse schemas and data models.

• Integrate observability into pipelines and platform components.

• Facilitate collaboration across producer and consumer teams.

• Communicate effectively and take ownership of outcomes from start to finish.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of professional experience in data engineering, infrastructure engineering, or backend software engineering.

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

• Strong software engineering skills, including the ability to write clean, correct, and maintainable code.

• Solid foundational knowledge of data structures and problem-solving techniques.

• Profound understanding of distributed systems and data architecture.

• Experience with pipeline and platform design, including batch versus streaming, CDC, event contracts, multi-tenant and multi-region considerations, reprocessing, and observability.

• Proficient in SQL with strong data modeling capabilities.

• Experience managing production data infrastructure from end to end.

• Strong ability to collaborate and take ownership across dependent teams.

• Familiarity with the AWS data stack, specifically Glue and Spark.

• Experience with cloud data warehouses or lakehouse platforms such as Amazon Redshift or Databricks.

• Experience with Tableau or a similar BI platform.

• Proficient in SQL and Python.

• Experience with workflow orchestration tools like Apache Airflow or Dagster.

• Legally authorized to work in the United States.
